Garden Party

Last weekend we did end up going to the Botanical Gardens. We visited the pumpkin exhibit which was a little disappointing. I thought they'd be decorated and carved by artists etc. but instead it's just a contest that anyone could enter. Most of them were decorated and painted rather than carved as well. They were nice for sure, just not what I expected. We spent some time outside too because it was nice and sunny. The Chinese Garden had a lantern exhibit which was just gorgeous. The kids loved it and loved watching the fish and ducks in the ponds. JP and his girls came with us.

Here is Richard with Simon in a greenhouse during our first Botanical Gardens visit on my birthday last year in August 2004 (my Gosh, what a little blond plumpkins he used to be!)

And here is one taken last Saturday of the two of them in the Chinese Garden.

Here's one of Kate with Simon where you could see some of the beautiful lanterns they had out in the Chinese Garden. I'm sure it was even prettier at night with them all lit up.

A great day!

This weekend we're taking it easy and staying put. Loads of housework and errands to do. Let the fun begin!
