Belated Postcard from Mexico

It would be impossible to try to write proper updates for the past 4 months. So, I'll delight you with the best stuff: sunshine, smiling faces and notes on the best family vacation ever!
The three of us headed to Manzanillo, Mexico at the end of January. It was our first real family trip and Simon's first time on an airplane. After a lot of research and back and forth with an agent, we got a deal on an all inclusive in the Barcelo chain called the Karmina Palace. This resort is fantastic. The only negative I could possibly come up with is that the pools were a little cold for people like me who like to swim in bathwater. And they never gave you lemon and salt with your 4oz tequila shot.

It's an all suite resort so the basic room (which is what we had) is a junior suite with a huge washroom, terrace and plenty of space for our little family and all our stuff. Rich and I had a king-sized bed and Simon slept on the 'Transformer bed' pull-out in the main part of the room. He had his own TV and mini fridge so he lived like a college bachelor.

This was taken just after check in - Simon had stripped down (note little boy undies on bed) and yanked out his beach toys from the suitcase in 3 minutes flat.

The resort itself was so well maintained, spotlessly clean and simply beautiful. The food was amazing and none of us got sick. I ate massive plateloads every day of the freshest scallop seviche and we still reminice about the all-day taco bar on the beach.

We highly highly recommend this resort to anyone - especially people travelling with little kids. We can't wait to go back!
